Miss Lily’s is the celebrated Caribbean hotspot with two locations in the heart of downtown New York, and international outposts in Negril, Jamaica and Dubai, UAE. The laid-back restaurant offers a modern approach to classic Jamaican cooking, characteristically cool staff, and a colourful atmosphere.

Drawing on the diverse roots of vibrant Jamaican cuisine, the menu offers modern renditions of island specialties like jerk chicken, escovitch fish, oxtail and curried goat - seasoned with scotch bonnet peppers and fiery jerk spices. In short, Miss Lily's is an island vacation in the middle of a concrete jungle. And this was what drew the VKD Hospitality Group to the concept in the first place.

Quick to spot a gap in the market, Varun Khemaney and Khalil Dahmash worked closely with the original restaurateurs to translate the Miss Lily’s blueprint to the UAE’s particular palette, staying true to both form and function.

"It was a really cool, collaborative process where we were able to dive in, design and develop, and come up with something specifically for this region that we thought would work while still maintaining the authentic and original brand identity."

Co-founders Khemaney and Dahmash, along with now-partner and creative director, Serge Becker, launched in 2016 and were the first to bring this sort of full-bodied restaurant experience to the region. They collaborated with executive chef Adam Schop for the menu – which he adds to each time he visits.

The team also tied up with with local and international DJs to bring the right vibe and create the perfect sound for the space. Miss Lily’s became the first to introduce reggae and ska to the dining atmosphere and is still sought-out for playing the latest hip hop, RnB, and afrobeat tracks. In a way, Miss Lily’s is responsible for re-igniting the dancehall flavour in the city.

Miss Lily’s has since gone on to become one of the hottest spots in the Dubai F&B scene, with celebrities such as A$AP Rocky, Bella Hadid, Nas, Rihanna, Ed Sheeran, and Floyd Mayweather dining and dancing amidst the intimate destination’s guests. It has also won numerous awards annually since its opening, from a multitude of local and internationally recognized magazines.
